Andrew Rankin was born 1570 in Middleton, Kinrosshire, Scotland and died 28 August 1616 at St. Andrews, Loch Leven, Scotland.

He married Margaret Patoun. She was born about 1574 in Kinross, Scotland.

Their children were:

James Rankin (born 1597 at Colden, Kinrosshire, Scotland)
